The Chamber announces that this years Independence Day Celebration will be Friday, July 4th, at Riverfront Park. In addition to a new location, we are adding games for the family, live local entertainment, food vendors,and craft vendors. Local bluegrass band, Iron Mountain Station will play at 1 p.m. Other groups playing throughout the day and evening are the Eleven Point River Band, Oak Grove Signers, Badd JJ and our very own Billy Yates, performing on acoustic guitar.
Opening ceremony by the VFW and Girl Scounts will be at 3:00 p.m. A children's bike parade will begin at 3:15. Mini golf will be available throughout the day, sponsored by Poplar Bluff Realty.
The Miss Current River pageants will begin about 5:30 p.m. We have added a new age category this year, 0-3years as well as made a few other changes to the attire for the age groups.
We encourage any group, club or organization to sponsor a game by calling Matt at Southern Bank. Vendor applications and pageant applications can be downloaded from our website and must be turned in by June 27th.. Just click on Calendar & Events and search for July 4th.

Plan on bringing the family for a fun filled day. Bring a lawn chair and stay a while. Fireworks will begin after dark.
