Ozark Regional Timberfest
October 10, 2007. I am very proud to announce that at last week's Chamber of Commerce
Executives of Missouri (CCEM) Conference in Hannibal, Missouri, the Ripley County
Chamber of Commerce won the Award of Excellence in the Programs &
Campaigns - Special Events category for the 2006 Ozark Regional Timberfest.
In July, I submitted an application, along with the promo materials and power point presentation from the 2006 Timberfest to the Missouri Chamber of Commerce/CCEM for consideration of the award. The applications are reviewed by independent marketing people in Kansas City, Missouri. The Ripley County Chamber is the smallest chamber to have received this award.
A special thanks goes out to Dwight Thompson of Windstream Communications, who brought the Timberfest idea to the Chamber's Board of Directors in early 2006 - he chaired the original committee and helped to make the event a success. Also, thank you to all of the volunteers and sponsors who have supported the Chamber these past two years. We appreciate all of you! The Award of Excellence plaque is on display in the Chamber office, located at 101 Washington St.
